"Blown Away" movie explosion, 1993

The Maxell “Blown Away Guy” was a print advertising campaign created for Maxell in the early 1980s, most notably appearing in 1982. The ad depicts a man seated in a modern armchair as an intense blast of sound from his stereo physically pushes him backward, while a composed butler stands beside him serving a drink. The exaggerated visual metaphor was designed to communicate the extreme clarity, power, and realism of Maxell’s audio cassette tapes. | Neon Talk
