#Trailblazers ✨ Anna Coleman Ladd was an American sculptor who, during World War I, dedicated her talents and time to create facial prosthetics for returning soldiers who had become disfigured from their injuries. When Ladd’s husband was appointed to direct the Children’s Bureau of the American Red Cross in north-eastern France during the war, she applied to work with the soldiers in Paris, but needed special permission as husbands and wives were forbidden to serve in war zones at the same time.
