Eighteen years ago, Hurricane Ivan struck Grenada with full force on September 7, 2004. The storm was well organized with a sharply defined eye. At that time, the storm was rated as category 3 on the Safford-Simpson scale. Hurricane Ivan affected the entire island of Grenada.
